Soundscape Interludes by Matthew Syres

Simeon Bartholomew
Simeon Bartholomew makes his solo debut on the fretless acoustic bass, in an avant-garde hybrid of progressive rock and jazz. Lending from his lengthy critically-acclaimed career in the math-rock scene under the guise SEIMS (as well as other projects such asGODSWOUNDSS, No Mandate, Birdman: Or the Unexpected Virtue of a Tony Hawk Pro Skater Cover Band and more…), this improvised experimental-jazz set will run amuck through his effect pedals in a looping cacophony of fuzz, delay, delight, and distress.

Mr Plebatron

The solo sci-fi lo-fi improvised electronic sounds of Tim for peoples listening pleasure. Using the finest of cheap analog synths, an interest in minimalism and a love of english sic-fi to create improvised sound pieces that often take time to develop and travel somewhere (I’m just not sure where though, that bits up to you). -

Ben and Hiske (Fabels)
https://fabels.bandcamp.com/
Ben Aylward and Hiske Weijers started their regular collaborative duo Fabels in December 2010. Under which moniker they have released two albums and are recording their third now. They use drum machines, loops, keys, guitar, bass and vocals to create an atmospheric, long form and sometime abstracted music. For this special night Ben and Hiske will do an improvised dual guitar set.

Forenzics
https://forenzics.bandcamp.com/
Forenzics make music that is full of heart and beauty – contradicting the charge that experimental music is often cold, cerebral and can only be appreciated on a ‘high aesthetic’ level. A genre of their own, Forenzics mold, meld and mutate musical material into bright new shapes. Taking improvisation beyond barriers, they challenge us and change our minds. You will not walk away from a Forenzics experience unchanged. Featuring two guitars, drums and baritone sax.

Matthew Syres
https://matthewsyres.bandcamp.com/
Founding member of Sydney group Forenzics, Matthew has an eccentric and unusual approach to the guitar, using multiple effects, delays and looping to build complex improvised sonic textures informed by noise, post-rock, industrial and soundscape music. Here he plays an optical theremin, open jack and contact mic to create subtle textured soundscape interludes between sets.
