Their three albums cover a wide array of improvised music drawing on diverse influences from Asian musics to contemporary improvisation and beyond. Microfiche are an improvising ensemble whose music explores the meeting points of improvisation and composition, through miniatures less than a minute long to durational works of up to thirty minutes.

The band launched its debut album in December 2016 with a follow-up live EP released in mid 2017. Their Johnston Street Jazz performance will feature a mixture of works drawn from these recordings alongside new works they'll be playing for the first time!
