The Polymorphic Orkestra is an electro acoustic art music ensemble that produces improvised music using a mix of traditional instruments, media technology, audio FX and pre recorded audio stem data. Although their music is
free in form, it is not overtly atonal. Their music is rhythmic and melodic and constructed during performance requiring a great deal of inter-ensemble focus and musical awareness. Rodrigues - Drums, iPad, Midi Guitar, Audio samples, Percussion, Lee McIver - Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Laptop, FX, Audio data. Polymorphic Orchestra have released two CD’s (Acumulus & Confluence) to much acclaim and recently
recorded material for their third album Shadowland to be release July 2019. Polymorphic have performed a number of times at SIMA, Foundry 616, Kinetic Jazz, Lazy Bones, SICKO and in Melbourne for the Melbourne Jazz Co-op as well as concert performances at Darling Quarter Theatre (Sounds of Now) and at the NIDA Studio (Confluence CD Launch). Individually the members of Polymorphic Okestra are well respected artists active in contemporary new music, jazz, world music and can occasionally be found in the orchestra pit or in commercial recording sessions.

Ephemera: a musical exploration of celestial landscapes such as pulsars, craters, planetary atmospheres, stars, sun and void. Merging the sound worlds of jazz and contemporary classical, and set to real space sounds, it is a unique sonic experience.
The ensemble is led by Keyna Wilkins (piano/flute/compositions) with Elsen Price (double bass/loop pedal), Will Gilbert (trumpet) and Carl St Jacques (viola) and includes freely improvised pieces. NASA recordings of electromagnetic waves from planets and stars is the backdrop soundtrack and has been complied by astronomer Professor Paul Francis often with projections of space probe footage. Each member brings their own unique voice to the ensemble drawing from a multitude of musical backgrounds who combine to create a distinctive sound world that organically react to stellar concepts. Universe and Universality.
Formed in 2015, this ensemble have had a series of successful shows including being featured in Extended Play Festival of New Music at City Recital Hall 2018 and Sydney International Womens' Jazz Festival 2017.
