A subset of the minds that brought you 'interesting music' night Frigid have joined forces with some more interesting people and GOOD SPACE to create a nine week run of Thursday evenings of interesting live electronic music featuring live acts, deejays and veejays from 6pm til midnight for only $8 at the door.
Expect modular synthesisers with masses of blinking lights and tangled patch cables, performers playing obscure objects like panes of glass or hurdygurdies, drums played without sticks, eye bending visuals, DNA being turned into music, drones, dubs, noise, sub-bass, cut up vocals and beats alike. Improvisation, collaboration, sonic exploration. Genres being blurred, bent and re-invented before your ears.
Come down at 6pm for five live acts, DJs and live visuals. $8 at the door.

10k
========
10k (known in chiptune circles as Ten Thousand Free Men and Their Families) has been making tracker music for over a decade. Originally this gusto for trackers was focussed on LSDJ for the Nintendo Game Boy, but in 2020, with the arrival of the handheld M8 tracker to the market, this passion expanded to controlling Eurorack gear with the M8.

Lucas Abela (Dual Plover)
========
Over the past 20 years’ maverick musician Lucas Abelas unorthodox performances with shards of broken glass have become the stuff of legend.
Since its invention the glass has evolved from a means to create free-noise cacophonies into an incredibly versatile instrument producing an organic form of outsider electronica. Played somewhat like a bellow-less saxophone, by subtly vibrating lips to transmit micro-sonic vibrations into the pane.
This single source of audio then feeds a complex modular patch of parallel effects chains to give the instrument the illusion of ghostly accompaniment that together forms dense layers of anomalous music.
The sounds produced are best summed by the New York Times who described a 2019 performance as "One moment you hear John Coltrane playing a volcano, the next you hear a string section being squeezed through a toothpaste tube".
While relatively obscure here at home, Abela's singular vision has attracted the attention of some of the most adventurous musicians working today resulting in unlikely and often serendipitous collaborations with the likes of Dave Grohl, Lou Reed, The Flaming Lips, Trey Spruance and Death Grips.

resident DJ Chris Mountford
========
Chris Mountford is a Sydney-based DJ and producer with a strong connection to the experimental music, Burning Seed and queer party communities.
Having hosted several of Sydney's most loved warehouse parties of recent years including Orchid Funstorm, he's also summoned dancefloor enthusiasm at the occasional festival and club night.
With a performative approach to DJing, his selections strike a sophisticated balance of rhythms from the Middle East, South America and naturally, Africa, with a sonority that blends traditional instrumentation with the purely synthetic.
