Performers
Double bassist and composer Tom Botting has been a fixture in the Sydney jazz and improvised music scene since relocating from Aotearoa New Zealand 13 years ago. His solo work is informed by his doctoral research, completed in 2019, which examined double bass extended techniques and practical methods for their application to composition and improvisation.

Niki Johnson is a contemporary percussionist and composer-performer whose musical practice incorporates interdisciplinary collaboration and artistic research. She has been commissioned to compose and perform solo percussion works for the Sydney Powerhouse Museum and Art Gallery of New South Wales, and is a current PhD student at Monash University.
Szem is the left-field electronic project of sound and visual artist Laura Hunt. Hunt’s work investigates the body as a conduit for transformation, exploring energy and the possibility of other dimensions to deepen her understanding of the mechanics of the world we live in. Szem combines spoken word, hardware sampling, and amplified percussive instruments to weave her ethereal world. Szem means eye.
Szem is all the different ways we see, through our body, through our third eye, through our memory, through each other.
Emily-Rose Sharkova - a musical shapeshifter, who crafts unexpectedly beautiful moments with voice, keyboards and accordion. You will find her fronting Emily-Rose & The Wild Things, collaborating with Canadian Jaron Freeman-Fox in Shark & Fox, singing songs with duo Little Clouds and wielding accordion with chamber-folk group The Good Behaviours.

Trevor Brown – bass clarinet/flutes/sax/electronics - composer, sound designer, improvisor and curator, Trevor has been a transformative figure in the Sydney music scene for over three decades, working across many genres. He has lectured in performance, improvisation and sound design at Sydney Conservatorium, Sydney College of the Arts, and RMIT and splits his time between Sydney and Europe with a variety of solo and collaborative projects.
