Melodies and rhythmic archetypes are used as platforms for improvisation. Written components function as interchangeable pieces that can be rearranged to create frameworks in which improvisation is informed

Gabriella Hill is an exciting and original new voice on the tenor saxophone. Her trio provides an excellent vehicle for her explorations of the instrument and her complementary compositional approach. As well as leading her own trio, Gabriella is a member of the groups Double Trouble and Splinter Orchestra. Gabriella and Alex performed as a duo and with other musicians at the SoundOut Festival 2025.
