The premier of Act One of Songs of Fire, a chamber opera written and composed by Sydney Conservatorium of Music Doctor of Musical Arts student Anna Hueneke. A remarkable ensemble of world-class musicians, soprano, baritone, ten double basses and two cellos, will gather to perform this unique spectral music piece inspired by Claude Vivier's Bouchara.
The libretto in Classical Hebrew with its rhythmic resonant musical form, is a lament to lost love, a spiritual journey that culminates in the discovery of the creative power of fire.
