Modern Double Bassist Elsen Price performs with Indian Classical Sitar player Rishta Dyall at one the Inner West's best secret venues - Woodlands Studio. Elsen and Rishta will be performing an array of music that crosses tradition with invention.

About Rishta:
Rishta Dyall is a dedicated sitarist and educator with over a decade of experience in Indian classical music. Having performed extensively in both Mauritius and New South Wales, she brings a rich cultural perspective to her performances. Her academic journey culminated in a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Performing Arts from Delhi University, further solidifying their expertise and commitment to the art form.
In her performances, she delves into the intricate compositions of Hindustani classical music, presenting ragas, offering audiences a profound musical experience. While rooted in Hindustani classical music, she incorporates elements of contemporary and light music, creating a unique fusion that resonates with a wide audience.
Rishta has been imparting the nuances of sitar playing to students for the past eight years. Her teaching approach blends traditional techniques with contemporary understanding, fostering a deep appreciation for Indian classical music among their students.
Whether performing on international stages or nurturing the next generation of musicians, she remains committed to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Indian classical music.
