"Monday Night Confessions" is a weekly show presenting original jazz/improvised music. Run out of Church Street Studios in Camperdown, Sydney, we acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, and pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging.
4th August 2025 - featuring: Noitcurtsed Nodnet // Hectet (NZ)
Noitcurtsed Nodnet
When Daniel Raymond (drums), Aidan Wong (tenor saxophone), Eric Tsai (electric guitar) and Ravi T-Ray (piano) improvise as a group, they are Noitcurtsed Nodnet.
Over long form pieces the band tends to drift from what might be considered their main instrument to the novelty of other instruments during their meetings as a group.
Not lacking in creativity nor as a way out by abandoning the collective sound on their more established instruments, they just seem to enjoy the contrast of clear ability against the rawness of the pursuit in finding sounds in the unfamiliar. And they hope this pushes the music further into the unexpected.

Hectet (NZ)
The Hectet is a group of four friends who are dedicated to the presentation of original jazz-adjacent groove music, composed and led by Hector McLachlan. This band of buddies consists of Phoebe Johnson on bass, Lennox Grootjans on drums, and Jasper Holloway on guitar. We will be having fun while exploring various figurative elaborations of concepts together. Hector can usually be found playing keys in legendary local act Revulva and has just returned this year from a world tour with The Teskey Brothers.
