Schkeuditzer Kreuz is one human and some machines, making noise, in the face of it all. The industrial synth crust artist from Sydney
takes the politics and fury of d-beat and anarcho-punk, then blends them with treated vocals, harsh industrial synths and queasy dance-punk rhythms. It’s not as unapproachable as one might think – the electronics and field recordings are often harsh and jarring, yet it is all kept in check by rhythmic precision.
Lucas "Granpa" Abela is most famous for creating an instrument made from a diamond-shaped pane of glass, fitted with contact microphones and attached to effects pedals. During live shows, he manipulates and breaks the glass with his mouth, often receiving cuts in the process and leaving his face and the instrument smeared in blood. Originally from the Gold Coast, Lucas has been creating music and touring the world under various names and in bands for 30 years making him a veteran in the experimental music circles.
Gutterpig first came into the scene in 2023 and has been consistently releasing a plethora of singles and EPs ever since. His live performances stand out with him donning a pig mask and taking elements of electronic and punk which combine hypnotic beats, distorted synths and with raw vocals.
The White Mare is the brainchild of Alex Woollams, typically described as death industrial but taking elements from harsh noise, dark ambient, noise rock, musique concrete and more to create haunting soundscapes that ooze atmosphere. With two full length albums under his belt this debut live performance will not be one to miss.
