Gary Daley & Sandy Evans Duo

Two musicians who have devoted their lives to communicating their passion for and immersion in music. Individually they have performed and recorded nationally and internationally with a plethora of renowned artists. As well as performers of high standing, both Evans & Daley are composers and band leaders who have presented multiple projects which have garnered high praise and a dedicated following. This performance will feature original compositions which draw on multiple musical styles including jazz, world and classical music. The program will also feature deep dives into the world of free improvisation. Virtuoso instrumentalists on reeds, piano accordion and piano.

About the musicians:

Sandy Evans is an internationally renowned saxophonist, composer, music researcher and teacher with a passion for improvisation and new music. She has played with and written for some of the most important groups in Australian jazz since the 1980s and has toured extensively in Australia, Europe, Canada and Asia.

Gary Daley is a highly regarded Australian composer, pianist, accordionist and teacher from Springwood in the Blue Mountains. Best known as a musician playing in some of the elite bands of Australian jazz; most notably The catholics and Mara Big Band. He leads the renowned quartet, Bungarribee which features his own compositions and music from the classical repertoire. Daley’s projects have received glowing reviews and his music has been presented at major venues and festivals throughout Australia. He appears on multiple recordings featuring renowned Australian contemporary artists.
