OPUS NOW #34

Where: Temple on the Park, Australia Street, Newtown

When: Sunday September 28th • Start time 2pm (Doors open 1:30pm)

Tickets: Adults $35 FT Students + $15

We are back again as promised! This time returning to the stunning acoustics of Temple on the Park in Newtown.

We welcome the phenomenal brother–sister duo of drummers Abby Constable and Daniel Williams. Abby’s style is rooted in traditional swing while also drawing influence from South American and Afro-Latin rhythms, inspired by her studies in Argentina and Brazil. Daniel (known to many as Dan W) is recognised for his electrifying performances with some of Australia’s favourite bands – Art vs Science, Philadelphia Grand Jury, and Thelma Plum. This marks their first public performance together as siblings – a debut not to be missed!

Freya Schack Arnott also returns with a solo cello set, following her spellbinding self-composed and performed score to the play Grief is the Thing with Feathers at the Belvoir St Theatre.

We’re equally delighted for the return of Billy Ward, on saxophone, joining Chris Pidcock to perform duos from the Icelandic bassist Skúli Sverrisson’s hauntingly beautiful album The Box Tree,  interwoven between movements from J.S Bach’s radiant 4th Cello Suite.
