Through a Cold and Endless Night

  • Leichhardt Town Hall 107 Norton Street Leichhardt, NSW, 2040 Australia (map)

Through a Cold and Endless Night is the latest development in an ongoing series of performances by Lewis Lockwood Mosley.

Starting in 2020, these performances began by exploring amplifier feedback to create sustained drones that could be slowly shaped over extended periods of time. Carefully developed over the past years, this iteration of the piece utilises four self sustaining amplified electric guitars, generating a sustained wash of resonance that unfurls slowly over the course of the work.

Taking its name from a lyric in a song by Australian band The Drones, the work draws as much from the unbridled ferocity of this music as it does from the meditative music of composers such as Pauline Oliveros, Yoshi Wada, and Eliane Radigue. A long form exploration of drone and guitar resonance, this performance takes place at Leichhardt Town Hall.
