**FYI for those unfamiliar chemical imbalance. is a local bedroom/DIY label that has existed since late '15 ... releasing roughly 100 often overlooked titles to date 'n pumping 'em out at speedy rates.. focusing on obscure OZ+NZ acts, & come in the form of limited editions detailed hand-made somewhat strangely packaged items, such as cassettes, CDRs, occasionally vinyl & other near obsolete physical formats**
....with a super line-up as always, of the weird, wonderful, and genre-defining! including;
~BORDER MENACE [Berlin/Melbourne] - A belated tape launch for the solo project of Alex J. Lee from synth-punk 4-piece on extended-hiatus REPAIRS, previously of Subterranean Rain, and also records solo as Heavy Birthday, whilst on his v brief visit back to Australia, for the 'In Sepia' EP released late last year... Late night ambient techno beats w/ sampled elements of traditional world music [eg. Celtic bagpipes] as well as moments of very dark emotive sounds thrown in the mix. ~POWER STEERING [Sydney 4-piece "super-group"] - Newish band led by talented/prolific local artists Fortune Bullen (of "Angie" fame, & previously of many punk acts such as Circle Pit, Kiosk, Ruined Fortune, Straight Arrows, Southern Comfort.. & Ruin Press publishing) & Anthony Guerra (of Love Chants, Mysteries Of Love, Antipan, Vavenge, Galah Galah Galah, Vodka Sparrows, etc.. & Black Petal record label) .. debut P.S cassette coming out on chem imbal in the near future!

~DFFDL [Melbourne] - Anthony Ynohtna aka Anthony Cooley, a key figure in the Melb. noise scene & beyond, will be venturing all the way up here to perform as his drone-tastic solo act DFFDL! He released a top notch split tape late '18 w/ fellow Melbournite+drone act Scenic Recovery.. and a CDR on Frustration Jazz prior to that!

~BATTLE-AX [Vienna/Sydney] - Brilliant, acclaimed world/experimental/neo-classical solo project of Beatrix Curran , the Viola fiddlin' instrumentalist back in her home town atm also, & we're lucky enough to have her joining the bill to perform her 1st live show here in Syd since playing the NowNow a couple of years ago, I believe! so don't miss this one!

~EVIL HEAT [Sydney town!] - 2 local legends, involved in Sydney's underground/warehouse DIY scene for a couple of decades roughly, Stev Spectre [sys.frank, etc.] & Swerve Harris [previously co-ran DualPLover] and the pair have been killin' it w/ this project ..playing regularly around Syd. with their brand of bangin' industrial/coldwave toonez, eg. 'Edge of the Night' from their debut 7" released last year [+plus a chem imbal tape release is in the works, look out for it in the coming in the next few months or so..!]
